Explore Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage and a city full of history sinceroman times. Some of the streets are pedestrian and the best way isto walk and discover: the ruins of Temple of Diana, Square of Giraldo, the old University, beautiful Churches, the Aqueduct and the Palace of Duques do Cadaval. Strategically located on a hilltop, Estremoz can tell many episodes of the history of Portugal. Visit the hilltop Castle and the fortified wall, the churches and the pretty little streets with shops selling local products. The village of Arraiolos is famous for its tradition in the manufactory of beautiful carpets and tapestries that still maintains the old techniques and the traditional yellow and blue colours. Take a walk in the village where you will see old workshops, with women making and repairing these valuable carpets. Not far you can find Vila Viçosa where the Royal family of Bragança lived, with its impressive Palacio Ducal and Palace Square. Visit of this beautiful village that shows all the signs of its privileged past. Between Estremoz and Évora is Evoramonte, a medieval village with quiet tiny streets that surround the castle. Make a stop and be overwhelmed by the beautiful views from the top of the fortified tower.
